Cookie Policy

Last Updated: April 25, 2024

Ouriginal provides an anti-plagiarism service that consists of an analysis of whether a specific text contains similarities with other sources, for the purpose of analysis of whether all or part of the text has been plagiarized (the “AP Service” or the “Services”). Our offering is to schools and universities all around the world. We help schools and universities prevent plagiarism.

This Cookie Policy (the “Policy”) applies to the Services which are offered by Prio InfoCenter AB (“Ouriginal”, “we”, “us”).

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small files which contain data and are stored on your browser or device. Cookies may be served by the entity that operates the website you are visiting (“First Party Cookies”) or by other companies (“Third Party Cookies”). Now and then the website will request the data from the stored cookies.

There are two different types of cookies used on the AP Service: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are temporary and, therefore, only stored on your computer when browsing the website. As soon as the browsing session ends, the cookie disappears. Session cookies are used to remember your browsing behavior during the session, e.g., remembering choices made on a previous page.

Persistent cookies will stay on your device even after the browsing session has ended. A persistent cookie will remain on the device for a set period of time and will be activated every time you revisit the Website. At any time, you can erase all persistent cookies stored on your hardware through your browser’s privacy settings.

2. Our use of cookies

The purposes for which we or our third party service providers use First Party and Third Party Cookies and similar technologies generally fall into the following categories:

  • Strictly Necessary: Examples include carrying out or facilitating the transmission of communications over a network, and technologies that are strictly necessary to provide our Services.
  • Functional: Examples include helping ensure our Services function correctly, remembering your settings and preferences (such as your language preferences), helping to identify and prevent security risks, or helping us understand and improve our services.
  • Performance: Examples include collecting information about how you interact with our services.

3. Managing Cookies

Browser Controls. Further information about how to limit the use of cookies by changing the settings of your browser can be found here:

If you use a different browser than the mentioned above, you can normally find the cookie settings in your browsers menu by clicking “settings”, “preferences” or “options”, and selecting privacy and security.

However, if you choose not to use cookies when using our Services, some essential functions of the Services might not work properly.
